Mission Statement
“The Jefferson County Regional Crime Laboratory will strive to provide the community with reliable, impartial and timely forensic services from skilled professionals to ensure the highest quality of scientific analysis”
The Jefferson County Regional Crime Laboratory is located in the administration building of the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and the Texas Forensic Science Commission. As a regional crime lab, the lab analyzes evidence from criminal cases in Jefferson and Orange counties. The laboratory is accredited in Forensic Testing in the areas of seized drugs, biology screening, blood alcohol, and firearms and toolmarks. In addition to these disciplines, Forensic Scientists assist law enforcement agencies at crime scenes, provide forensic science training, testify in court, and provide technical supervision and calibration services for Jefferson County’s breath alcohol testing program.
