Evidence Receiving

Evidence Receiving is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all evidence in storage at the Crime Lab. All evidence submitted into the Crime Lab is received and stored in the evidence vault until it is logged out for analysis by a Forensic Scientist. After completion of analysis, the evidence is either forwarded to another lab for further analysis or returned to the submitting agency. The Evidence Receiving section of the Crime Lab is responsible for forwarding the evidence to another lab as requested by a Forensic Scientist.

The Laboratory accepts evidence Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, and is closed for lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm. Law enforcement agencies needing to make an appointment to submit evidence should contact the Crime Lab at (409) 726-2577.
