Mission Statement

The mission of the Division is to protect the public trust through the thorough investigation of complaints concerning Sheriff's Office employees.

The Internal Affairs Division is tasked with investigating all allegations and complaints of inappropriate conduct and/or actions made against employees of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. It is a fact finding entity with three main purposes, Protection of the Public, Protection of the Department, and Protection of the Employee.

The Internal Affairs Division assists the Sheriff in her commitment to uphold the highest degree of integrity, pride, and professionalism of her employees. Good community relations between the Sheriff’s Office and the public is vital to the Sheriff's Office. Perhaps the most essential element in this relationship is Integrity. All complaints made against employees are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

Commendation and Complaint Forms are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the main lobbies of the following locations:
