Yesterday morning, October 1, 2020, Criminal Investigators with the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit along Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators executed an evidentiary search warrant at a residence in Nederland in reference to Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography.
This search warrant was the result of a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline Report involving the upload of child pornography to an online storage account.
Evidence was seized and 26 year-old Zachary Allen Simon of Nederland was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography, all third degree felony offenses. His bonds totaled $2,500,000.00. If found guilty, Simon faces a maximum 10 year sentence and $10,000.00 fine for each offense.
