On Friday, 02/21/2020 at 6:40 p.m., Port Arthur Police booked 31 year old Leeann Navarro into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on theft charges. She also had 2 outstanding felony warrants from Jefferson and Harris Counties.
After receiving medical clearance at a local hospital, Navarro was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
This morning at 1:40 a.m., Correctional Officers found Navarro unresponsive in her cell. Medical Staff immediately began CPR to no avail. Navarro was pronounced deceased and Judge Collins ordered an autopsy.
As per protocol, the Jail Commission was notified as well as the Texas Rangers. Navarro’s family has been notified. No additional information at this time.
