Subject of Amber Alert Found Safe
Police in Pearland, Texas put out an Amber Alert late Sunday in an effort to track down a teenager
last seen leaving the area with her stepfather.
Authorities discovered around 4:30 p.m. that 15-year-old Irene Alejandra Nunez had allegedly
left home with 37-year-old Kevin Mauticio Caceres, riding in his 2013 Buick Enclave, Tx plates MLM7190.
On Monday, 09/03/2019 around 1:10 p.m., a motorist traveling East on IH10 near Hwy 73 spotted the
suspect vehicle and called 911. Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies intercepted the vehicle and made
the traffic stop on IH10 near College Street. Deputies arrested Kevin Caceres at the scene on a Kidnapping
warrant out of Pearland. Nunez was taken to the Sheriff's Office and will be released to family.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The Amber Alert System has been in place since 1996. The program includes notification to electronic devices
and TXDOT Billboards. This notification system allows millions of travelers to become involved in the process
of recovering children all across the United States. We are very appreciative of the motorist who not only
notified authorities but stayed on the phone with 911, giving exact locations until Deputies could arrive.
