On 06/03/2019 at 12:35 p.m. JCSO Deputies were working traffic on IH-10 at Smith Rd Eastbound when they observed a Mercedes car pass by them with no license plates.
The vehicle was stopped for the traffic violation at which time the driver stated he had no driver license however, he verbally identified himself as Kenneth Jerrod Branch. Branch admitted he was a convicted felon and that there was a loaded pistol near the front seat. Branch was detained for further investigation.
JCSO K-9 Deputy and his partner arrived at the scene. The K9 gave a positive odor response for narcotics when he searched the exterior of the car. A search of the car yielded baggies containing pills believed to be Ecstacy, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and bottles of Liquid Codeine. Branch was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
Upon searching Branch in the book-in area of the jail, he was discovered to have baggies in his shoes containing Methamphetamine and Cocaine. 35 year old Kenneth Jerrod Branch of Dickinson, Texas was booked in on the charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
