One Burglary Suspect in Custody, Two Juveniles At Large

On 02/15/2019, Jefferson County Deputies along with a Jefferson County K-9, and the Jefferson County Crime Scene Unit responded to two reported Burglaries that had just occurred in the 2700 block of Tyler Avenue, Nederland, Texas. Photos of the suspect vehicle used in the burglaries were obtained from neighboring home videos. Soon after the release of photos, calls came into Crime Stoppers helping to identify possible suspects. Working in conjunction with the Nederland Police Department and the Port Arthur Police Department, Investigators were able to identify all three suspects. The adult was identified as 18 year old Tre’Vontae Jones of Port Arthur, Texas. A Burglary Warrant was issued for his arrest. He was apprehended by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrant Unit and booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. Directives to apprehend have been issued for the two male Juvenile suspects, who are presently at large. An additional Burglary case was submitted to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office today. Most of the items stolen in the burglaries were located and returned to the owners. The investigation into the burglaries has been a cooperative, multi-agency undertaking. With the help of the community the suspects were quickly identified and charged for the burglaries and the stolen property was returned to the owners.
