Location: 8400 block of Terry Road Beaumont Texas
Offense: Aggravated Assault Family Violence with a Weapon
This morning at about 10:50am, Deputies were dispatched to the 8400 block of Terry Road in Beaumont in reference to a Family Disturbance call involving a gun.
The caller stated that 26-year-old Cory Alan James was having an argument with several family members and during the argument James went to his bedroom and returned with a pump shotgun. He pointed the shotgun at his family while continuing to argue with them.
Deputies from a number of divisions within the Sheriff’s Office responded to setup a perimeter around the residence. Deputies were able to convince James to exit the residence peacefully and turn himself over to Deputies. James exited the residences and was taken into custody without incident.
James was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he was booked in on Aggravated Assault Family Violence with a Weapon.
