Shortly before 10:30am on 12/18/2017, the JCSO Fugitive Warrant Division attempted to serve a felony warrant for Evading Detention with a Motor Vehicle, at an address in the 2800 block of Manning Street in Port Arthur. When Deputies approached the suspect at his residence he fled on foot through the neighborhood, Deputies gave chase. The suspect made it back to his residence where he got into his vehicle and led Deputies on a chase through Port Arthur.
The suspect led Deputies eastbound on Hwy 73 through Port Arthur over the Veterans Memorial Bridge to Bridge City where he turned around and drove westbound back over the Rainbow Bridge down Hwy 73 back to his residence on Manning Street where he was apprehended.
The suspect was identified as David Weeks. He was arrested on the original warrant and was charged again with Evading Detention with a Motor Vehicle. He was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
