Deputy Injured in Off Duty Traffic Accident
On 8/17/2017 at 5:00pm, Deputy Sheriff was injured while working an Off Duty Job at the ExxonMobil Refinery on Hwy 90 in Beaumont. The Deputy was working traffic control at the crossover intersection in front of ExxonMobil when his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by another vehicle.
The deputy was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by EDS3. He was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threating injuries. The Driver of the other vehicle was also transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.
ExxonMobil has hired several Deputies to work traffic control on Hwy 90 at their refinery on Hwy 90 since the start of the refinery expansion. We would like to remind everyone to drive with caution through this area and pay attention to any electronic signs, since this project will be continuing for at least another 18 months.
