Staff in the Courts Division of the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office serve as clerks to the following four Courts:

  • Constitutional County Court sitting in Probate
  • Statutory County Court at Law No. 1 giving preference to civil matters
  • Statutory County Court at Law No. 2 hearing criminal misdemeanors
  • Statutory County Court at Law No. 3 hearing criminal misdemeanors

The Jefferson County Clerk’s archives contain millions of pages of documents dating from 1836 to the present. Older documents are available in books and case files and more recent indexes can be viewed online using our public portal. Images are available on public access computers in our office, but are not available online at this time due to the possibility of sensitive data being viewable on the document images.
