MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Property and Evidence Room is to preserve and protect the property of it's citizens by providing professional, proficient, and systematic storage and handling of each and every piece of evidence or property that is entrusted to their care.

The members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Property and Evidence Department will uphold the highest standard's, ethics and clemency in their handling of evidence and or property.

Property Room

The Property and Evidence Room shall provide a secure area for handling, storage, maintenance and disposal of property and or evidence held by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

The maintenance and storage of these items will be regularly logged and entered into the County's Computer Data System for retrieval and complete, accurate information for all County personnel 's immediate retrieval and use.

A complete history of the evidence and or property will be cataloged for instant, professional, accurate case-by-case viewing and information to aide in returning to the owners, or for destruction and or auction at and in the appropriate time and manner.
