Dana A. Baker, Sr. is a native son of Beaumont, Texas and a product of Hebert High School and a graduate of the first graduating class of West Brook Senior High School Class of 1983. Dana was an outstanding football player at Hebert High School and a key player as a member of the 1982 Class 5A State Football Championship team at West Brook Senior High School.
In 1986 he accomplished duel success by earning both his Jailer License and Basic Jailer Certification. Dana served as a jailer with the Jefferson County Sheriff Department for more than three years. Recognizing his passion for a Law Enforcement career, he became a Reserve Officer and obtained his Conditional Reserve and Peace Officer Licenses in 1993.
In February of 1996, Dana began a long and rewarding career on the Beaumont Police Department for sixteen plus years. During his tenure as a police officer, he received both his Intermediate and Advanced Peace Officer Certifications. Dana retired from the Beaumont Police Department in May 2012.
In December of 2012, Dana advanced his career in Law Enforcement and achieved another personal goal by becoming the third Constable of Precinct 6 in Jefferson County. Constable Baker received his Master Peace Officer Certification in October 2013 and is a member of the Justice of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas, National Organization for Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), National Association for the Advance of Colored People (NAACP), 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont Chapter and serves a as board member on the Golden Triangle Disproportionality and Disparities Advisory Board.
