Jamie Smith


Hello, my name is Jamie Smith, and I am honored to serve as your Jefferson County District Clerk. I have had the privilege of being a public servant since 2004. I served 10 years as a Councilmember of Ward IV on the Beaumont City Council and now I am proudly serving as the Jefferson County District Clerk.

I am proud to say that I am an Aggie. I earned my Associates degree from St. Philips, a Bachelors and Master's degree from Lamar University. I started my collegiate career at Texas A&M University, but left to join the military. I proudly served in the United States Army for 4 years during Desert Storm. I am a member of the County and District Clerks Association of Texas, as well as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., YMBL, Family Services, NAACP, Beaumont Public School Foundation, and numerous of other organizations. I am a long time member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

I am married to Melanie Smith, father to Julian, Justin, and Jordan Smith and most excited about being a grandfather to Zoe and Julian Smith.

Jill Wiebusch


My name is Jill Wiebusch, and I am proud to serve as your Chief Deputy District Clerk. I earned my Associate's degree and certification in paralegal studies from The Paralegal Institute, and have over 25 years of legal experience with concentration in the areas of litigation, labor and employment, and estate administration.

I have held membership in the National Association of Legal Assistants, the Southeast Texas Association of Paralegals and Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. I have served as the Jefferson County Bar Association Liaison, President, and Executive Advisor for the Southeast Texas Association of Paralegals, and also as a volunteer for Teen Court in Jefferson County. I am currently an affiliate member of the County and District Clerks Association of Texas.

I was a long-time member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, and am currently a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. I am proud to be the wife of Kenny Wiebusch, and mother of Caleb and Allison Peterson. It is with great pleasure that I serve the citizens of Jefferson County.

Our staff is comprised of a dedicated group of individuals who are here to serve the members of this community. Our mission is to serve the judicial system and the public with efficient and accountable service. Our goals are to optimize customer service, capitalize on technology, achieve effective communication and office transparency, foster exemplary public service, and to deliver efficient and responsive government.

Our guiding principles are: Integrity, Accountability, Customer Service, Communication, Honesty, Teamwork and Good Work Ethics. Our motto remains, "Service Above Self."
